Euripides' brutal tragedy is re-imagined in early twentieth century London as a cautionary tale about maligning the marginalised. A play once used to protest for women's suffrage, this new production celebrates the centenary of that cause's extraordinary first victory in 1918 while a taking hard look at on-going inequality in the UK today. To mark the sixty-fifth annual Greek Play at King's College London, Medea will be performed in a dynamic combination of original Greek and newly commissioned English translation, offering a unique way to experience the visceral thrill of a classic that continues to haunt the imagination.

Medea is proud to be in association with Professor Edith Hall's campaign for Advocating Classics Education. You can visit their website at www.aceclassics.org.uk.

The play will be performed at the Greenwood Theatre on the following dates and times:
7 February - 2.30pm and 7pm
8 February - 7pm
9 February - 2.30pm and 7pm

There will be a pre-show talk by a leading scholar at 6pm every evening, free to that evening's ticket holders.

PLEASE NOTE: School groups wanting to book should email Helena Ramsay, this year's Business Manager, directly at greekplay@kcl.ac.uk. School teachers accompanying their students go free - please contact Helena to arrange.
