DescriptionThe Archipelagic Memory conference is open for registration! The conference will take place in the main campus of the University of Mauritius located in Réduit, Moka. Conference participants will also be invited to sign up for a few curated ancillary events. Details and booking instructions will be published on the conference website nearer the date of the conference. The registration fee for participants presenting at the conference includes coffee breaks, lunches and conference pack. You will be asked to choose a vegetarian/non-vegetarian option for lunches. If you have dietary requirements, please e-mail the conference team: archipelagicmemory@gmail.com. The fee structure reflects our wish to make the conference as inclusive as possible. Click here for a list of countries in each band. Reduced fees apply only to unwaged full-time students and early-career scholars currently without a position. Part-time students, post-doctoral researchers and early career scholars with an income are not eligible for the reduced rate. Conference participants will also be able to register for the following events:
Limited numbers are available for these events, in line with current government restrictions on indoor social gatherings. Transport from the University of Mauritius and back to Bagatelle in Moka will be provided. We reserve the right to cancel the events if they don’t reach the required numbers; in this case, a full refund will be processed. Registration for the conference and for optional events closes on 15th June 2022.

A list of accommodation options can be found on the conference website: https://archipelagicmemory.wordpress.com/accommodation/ In line with the general advice regarding travel during Covid-19, participants are advised to secure flexible cancellation policies and to check entry requirements to Mauritius on their government’s travel advice pages and on the Mauritius Now website. Please note that only vaccinated guests will be allowed access within the premises of the University of Mauritius, Eureka House, and Labourdonnais Hotel. Vaccination pass/card & ID will be checked at all premises. Non-vaccinated guests must present a PCR test result slip, certifying a negative result dated no more than 7 days prior to the event. REFUND POLICY Conference registration will be fully refunded (100% refund) if cancelled on or before 15th June 2022. Cancellations after 15th June 2022 are not eligible for a refund (0% refund). Registration for optional events will be fully refunded (100% refund) if cancelled on or before 30th June 2022. Cancellations after 30th June 2022 are not eligible for a refund (0% refund). We reserve the right to cancel the events if they don’t reach the required numbers; in this case, a full (100%) refund will be processed. |
