The Council Room is located on level 2 (K2.29) of the King’s Building. Enter through the main reception and walk straight ahead as far as the Great Hall on your left. Take a sharp turn to your right and take the staircase to the upper level. As you come up to the first floor, turn left and take the second door on your left.

(English) The colloquium "Beyond the Word: The Legacy of Camões in the 21st Century" aims to be an academic, artistic, and cultural celebration honoring the 500th anniversary of the birth of Luís de Camões. This one-and-a-half-day event offers an opportunity for researchers, students, and members of the general public to explore the legacy of the illustrious Portuguese poet from a contemporary, multidisciplinary, and artistic perspective.
The colloquium will also pay special tribute to Helder Macedo, Emeritus Professor at King's College London, whose work has significantly contributed to the understanding and dissemination of Camões' oeuvre. Under the title "A Ticket to the World: Welcome to Helder Macedo," a phrase coined by Margarida Calafate Ribeiro, we aim to explore in academic debate the journey inspired by the life and work of this distinguished Portuguese writer and scholar.
The colloquium will be held in a hybrid format, combining both in-person and online sessions.
