DescriptionJoin King's College London for a three-day course exploring how wearable devices, smartphones, and digital technologies are transforming healthcare research and clinical practice. Designed for researchers, healthcare professionals, data scientists, industry practitioners, and postgraduate students, the course introduces digital health, remote monitoring, wearable sensing technologies, digital biomarkers, and the analysis of health-related data. Through lectures, discussions, and hands-on practical sessions, participants will gain an understanding of how digital technologies can be used to collect, manage, and analyse real-world health data, as well as the opportunities and challenges associated with their implementation. Participants will also be introduced to RADAR-base, King's College London's open-source digital health platform, used internationally to support remote monitoring studies using smartphones, wearables, and other connected devices. The course will be opened by Professor Richard Dobson, Professor of Medical Informatics at King's College London and Director of the Health Data Research UK London Secure Data Environment. Refreshments and lunch will be provided on all three days of the course and are included in the registration fee. Please note that accommodation is not provided as part of the course. Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodation if required. Full joining instructions, including room details and course information, will be shared with registered participants in advance of the course start date. Once your application has been approved, you will be sent a link to payment and a discount code if one is to be applied. Please note the following: Your place will not be confirmed until payment has been made. Failure to cancel without sufficient notice will forfeit your course fee.
Refund Policy This policy shall apply to all courses run by the Department of Biostatistics and Health Informatics department. You may cancel a course booking at any time. The standard BHI course cancellation policy (as specified below) shall apply.
To cancel a course booking, you must let us know of your decision to cancel by emailing wearables@kcl.ac.uk. You must clearly state your intention to cancel the course. To meet the cancellation deadline, it is enough for you to send your communication concerning exercising the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired. We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction. In any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of this reimbursement. Whilst every effort is made to avoid changes to our programme, the BHI Department reserves the right to withdraw any course. If for any reason the BHI Department cancels a course, all course fees will be returned in full.
