​​King’s Coding for Lawyers is a 12-week, fully online, self-paced course designed to equip legal professionals and law students with essential coding literacy.  
Delivered in partnership with Codecademy, the programme bridges the gap between legal theory and technology, enabling participants to understand coding fundamentals, interpret Python code, and apply programming concepts to areas such as blockchain, cybersecurity, and AI.  
Through guided projects—including building a blockchain and creating a chatbot—learners will gain practical experience and the ability to communicate effectively with technical teams. The course runs for 12 weeks, with flexible study hours (2–6 per week) to fit around professional commitments. 
 
This course is open to legal professionals, law students, and those in compliance or innovation roles who want to develop digital skills. Applicants should have at least one year of legal study or equivalent professional experience, but no prior coding knowledge is required.  
 
To participate, you’ll need a computer with internet access; login details for Codecademy will be provided upon enrolment. Applications must be submitted by the deadline, and places are confirmed once payment is received.​
