Department of PsychologyDepartment of PsychologyStudent Mental Health Conference 2024DescriptionThis is an informal and friendly conference, designed to bring practitioners and researchers together to talk about student mental health. The conference will create opportunities to present lessons learned from practice and research findings. We will also be carving out plenty of time to talk about plans and ideas, as well as challenges, arising in practice and research. We hope this is an opportunity to learn and to connect. The three-day conference will focus on creating space for discussion, we have intentionally chosen a venue that gives us multiple smaller rooms, rather than a large lecture theatre. If you are hoping to sit at the back of a lecture hall and be talked at for a few days, I’m sorry, this event is not for you. It is for you, if you’d like to talk in smaller groups with individuals who are enthusiastic and passionate about student mental health. It is for you if you’d like to connect and collaborate with others working in this world. We will be running a programme of activities alongside the talks, to give space to be creative, to re-energise and to have structured time to get to know new people. The conference will be catered, including tea, coffee and lunch every day. There will be a conference dinner on the first evening (10th of June). We have included this in the conference price, as we hope as many people as possible will join us. The conference schedule is yet to be confirmed, but we expect to do something like: 10th – Midday to 5.30pm (or to 10pm including additional activities and dinner). 11th – 9am – 5.30pm 12th – 9.30am – 3.00pm
