DescriptionOverview The workshop will provide training in pharmacological treatments for ADHD. Following the course participants should be able to initiate and optimise treatments for ADHD. Topics Include: What drugs can be used to treat ADHD Side effects, adverse effects and drug interactions Initiation and tittration of drug treatments to provide optimal control of ADHD symptoms Recognising and monitoring the symptom response and long term outcomes Psychoeducation related to the pharmacological treatment of ADHD in adults. Study Methods A combination of presentations, interactive training, group work and discussion. Who should attend? This workshop is aimed at professionals working within adult mental health and specialist services such as forensic and addiction psychiatry. This is relevant to psychiatrists at all stages of training but also other members of the mental health team (including GP's) who are involved in evaluating treatment outcomes and prescribing medication. Accreditation The course content has been independently certified as conforming to accepted CPD guidelines.
