Description

This exclusive short course, led by Sir Peter Thornton KC, former Chief Coroner of England and Wales, offers an insightful opportunity to explore the legal frameworks and procedures that govern coroners and inquests.

It highlights the essential role coroners play in the justice system and addresses fundamental questions:

•    Who are coroners?
•    What are their responsibilities?
•    How do they serve the public interest?
•    And what insights can be drawn from their practice?

Delivered through five interactive seminars, the course covers a wide range of topics including death reporting, case investigation, inquest procedures, and the drafting of reports to prevent future deaths.

Participants will engage in critical discussions, deliver short presentations, and analyse real-world scenarios to deepen their understanding.
