Advanced Gynaecology Ultrasound

Description

This course is intended for existing ultrasound practitioners who would like to advance their gynaecology ultrasound skills through accessing high quality training to improve the standard of gynaecology ultrasound examinations, both nationally and internationally.

Entry requirements:
This course is suitable for health professionals with a background in ultrasound; Sonographers, Gynaecologists and Radiologists.
All participants must complete day 1 (online) to be eligible for the day 2 in person practical session. Places for the in person practical session will be limited to a maximum of 30 participants.

Day 1 (Thursday 4th July 2024) is open to all healthcare professionals including international delegates. A recording will be available for three days following the event for delegates to watch asynchronously.

Day 2 (Monday 8th July 2024) requires attendance at day 1 and transvaginal ultrasound experience plus PgCert gynaecology ultrasound/ RCOG gynaecology and early pregnancy ultrasound training (previously known as the intermediate ultrasound in gynaecology) or equivalent.

Description

An introduction to Implementation Science is aimed at anyone interested in improving health services and patient/population health outcomes. It covers the core scientific principles and investigative methodologies of implementation science, including quantitative, qualitative and econometric approaches. It also has a strong theoretical underpinning, drawing upon various theories, frameworks and models that can be used in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of health interventions. Equally, it has a strong practical focus, providing students with ‘take-home’ tools, checklists and other resources that can be applied to the development of interventions in different healthcare settings.

This online module will include recorded lectures and group work sessions, with some live webinars to help support the students’ knowledge of Implementation science taught by academics from the Centre for Implementation Science at King’s College London, University of East Anglia, Kingston University and St. George’s University of London with expertise in the field.

Description

This Cardiac MRI 2 day course aims to deliver a solid background of CMR (Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance) as a clinical application in routine clinical practice. It covers basic MRI safety/physics and focuses on the theory and practical skills involved with carrying out a simple CMR procedure as well as the more complex scans such as Perfusion imaging and Aortogram. The course also cover current topics of interest such as mapping and contrast safety, as well as less explored areas such as Congenital imaging. Attendees will benefit from sessions on tips and tricks to help improve their skills, a session on live scanning and post processing. The newly found knowledge and skills from the course can be embedded in their future practice.​

It covers the basic principles of CMR, its clinical indications and role in a multi-modality imaging environment.
