Cardiac MRI Scanning (Self-Pay Private Patients Service)DescriptionThis page is for ‘self-paying’ private patients to make payments to King’s College London for Clinical MRI Services. This is a consultant-lead specialist service, provided by the King’s College London at the School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences (BMEIS) based in 4th floor Lambeth Wing, St. Thomas Hospital, Westminster Bridge Road, SE1 7EH. Booking an MRI Scan: We need a referral letter from your consultant. Please ask your clinician for a referral letter or a clinic letter. We accept referrals from a consultant or your private doctor. We provide five specialist cardiac MRI scans: (a) Routine Cardiac MRI Scan (Scan to assess the structure, function and viability of the heart) - cost: £1643 (b) Perfusion Cardiac MRI scan (Scan to assess the structure, function, viability of the heart and any potential ischaemic changes under stress and rest conditions) - Cost: £1885 (c) Complex Cardiac MRI scan ((Scan to assess the structure, function, viability and inflammation (myocarditis) or tumour within the heart) - cost: £2074 (d) Congenital Cardiac MRI Scan (Scan to assess the structure, blood flow in the major vessels and any congenital abnormalities of the heart) - Cost: £2153 (e) Foetal Cardiac Advanced MRI (Scan to assess the unborn baby’s heart and structure through mother’s womb) – Cost: £3045 Your scan will take 60 - 90 minutes to complete depending on the complexity of the scan requested. To make the payment you can select the appropriate option and 'add to basket’. You will then be asked to provide some details of yours and your consultant’s contact details before proceed to make the payment. If you are unsure of the type of scan you need, please email your referral form first with your contact details to [email protected]. One of our clinical coordinators will then get in touch with you to inform you of the type of scan you would need and also the availability of potential appointment slots. You will be asked a set of questions to assess your suitability for the MRI scan. Once we agreed a mutually convenient provisional appointment you will be asked to make the payment towards your scan. Once you have received the confirmation of payment online, we will send out the confirmation of your appointment and other relevant patient information leaflet via email or by post depending on your preference.
