DescriptionThe international scholarly society of the Second World War Research Group looks forward to hosting over 180 researchers working on the conflict both within and beyond the discipline of history, as well as from those who cross disciplinary boundaries. Speakers from all six continents have been invited to present their high-quality research at this exciting two-and-a-half day event. This will be one of the largest academic events to mark the 80th anniversary of the surrender of the Axis powers at the end of the Second World War. The main conference (all day on 12-13 June 2025) will be held at the Waterloo Campus of King’s College London. We are also excited to share that the National Army Museum will be hosting us on the evening of 11 June, beginning at 6pm, for a panel discussion between senior scholars from around the globe. This will be followed by a wine and canapes reception in the Atrium, below the suspended Lynx helicopter. Space for this is limited to 140 participants, so this will be on a first-come-first-served basis. The SWWRG (Europe) Conference Organising Committee: Professor Jonathan Fennell (KCL), Dr. Jean Smith (KCL), Dr. Alex Wilson (KCL), Dr. Richard Hammond (Brunel University), Megan Hamilton (KCL)
