DescriptionWe invite you to participate in an exclusive opportunity to gain insights form Sir Peter Thornton KC on the legal frameworks and procedures governing coroners and inquests. This short course emphasises the pivitol role of coroners in the administration of justice. It will address key questions such as: Who are coroners? What are their responisibilites? What is the purpose of their work? How should they execute their duties to serve the public interest? What lessons can be derived from their practice? The course comprises five interactive seminars, each meticulously designed to cover a comprehensive range of topics, including the reporting of deaths, case investigations, the conduct of inquests, and the formulation of reports aimed at preventing future deaths. Participants will be expected to actively engage in discussions, deliver brief presentations, and critically analyse relevant scenarios.
