DescriptionThis course teaches coding literacy and fundamental coding skills through an online platform provided by a commercial partner. Coding becomes an ever more important skill in society. Whilst it is not necessary for everyone to be an expert coder, a certain coding literacy is advantageous and will at some point become a standard part of any professional skillset. Having some hands-on experience in the actual processes of creating computer code provides an invaluable sense of control. All module content is designed in advance in vertical scroll elements, videos, online coding challenges and runs fully automated at the pace determined by the student. The module has a teaching and a project section allowing the student to practice learnt content via an online training platform. The teaching section consists of the following parts: i. Introduction, ii. Principle of Coding, iii. Python and Javascript 101, iv. Cryptography, v. The Blockchain and Smart Contracts, vi. Data Science, Neural Networks and AI, vii. Legal Tech, viii. Conclusion. In the project section students will go through larger, platform guided coding challenges: a. programme a blockchain, b. programme a dApp, c. programme a simple stock prediction algorithm.
