This is a weekend event for Philosophy students at all levels (from UG to PhD) on all programmes (including joint honours), where students can meet academic staff and one another in an informal atmosphere.  

Cumberland Lodge is a big 17th Century house with lovely grounds in Windsor Great Park, and home to a charitable educational foundation. The programme for the weekend includes philosophy talks by students, staff and a visiting speaker, meals together in the dining hall, walks or football on Saturday afternoon, entertainment on Saturday night organised by the Philosophy Society, and time to spend in the bar or in the grounds. 

Our visit is from Friday 18th October to Sunday 20th October. We arrive on Friday evening around 6pm, and leave around 2pm on Sunday. Students and staff travel to Cumberland Lodge independently. The nearest train station is Egham, which is around 40 minutes by train from Waterloo. Cumberland Lodge is a short taxi ride (around £10) from Egham Station. The department heavily subsidises the weekend, so that for 2024/25 the cost is £50.00 per student.
